Roar like a Lion

We survived our first real Halloween. Nanna bought Andrew this adorable lion costume and when we first received it, well, lets just say it wasn't popular. It took some coaxing, but finally on Halloween I convinced him to wear it. Once he had it on, he played in it for hours.

We decided on the lion because his lovey is a lion and it is also one of the only animal noises he likes to make.

The Pumpkin Patch

A few weeks ago Andrew and I went to a local "pumpkin patch" with our mom's group here in Utah. Unfortunately it didn't even come close to the same experience we had last year in Maryland. However, Andrew loved seeing all the animals and riding on the hayride.

Before we moved here we tried diligently to break George of sleeping in bed with Phillip and I. As you can see, we were not successful. But really, who could kick that cutie out of bed?

Andrew is following in is Daddy's footsteps...check out "Flip Jr.".
Finally it is cool enough for jeans and sweatshirts. Doc bought this adorable John Deere outfit for Andrew and thankfully it still fits. Doesn't he look ready to farm?

We decided to enjoy the cooler weather and go for a hike at the nearby Snow Canyon. Andrew is becoming quite the hiker. If he had his way though, he would just sit and play with the rocks.

Our Escapee

It seems I should have let you girls know how to keep the little buggers in the crib. With our crib we were able to drop the mattress all the way down to the floor. Won't work with all cribs but seems to be working for now. We have also had several conversations with Andrew about sleeping and staying in the crib. Sounds crazy, I know, but so far so good.

Big Week In St. George

It's been a big week for us here in St. George. With Phillip working Saturdays now, Andrew and I have to get creative to keep busy. This Saturday we decided to bake cookies together (first time). He really loved dumping all the ingredients into the mixing bowl. Ever the picky eater, though, he didn't want to try the finished product. That's okay...more for me and dad!

Other fun news to report. Can you tell how tired he looks? Well, lately he's been on a napping strike. I think we may have finally fixed that but the biggest news of the week is that he has learned a new skill. About 3:30am we heard a thump, loud cry, loud cry that kept getting closer to our bedroom. You guessed it...the little prisoner escaped and was on the loose...he can get out of his crib all by himself. We are taking measures to keep him in there all night...in the mean time, wish us luck.
I've been checking up on all you girls from the LGSC and I love seeing all your posts from the playdates. It looks like you all are having loads of fun and checking out some really cool places. We miss you all and wish we were there to join in the fun.

Utah Splash pad

We finally found a way to keep cool here in St. George...Splash pads. This particular pad has a really cool waterfall and river for the kids to play in. The splash pad itself is still a little overwhelming for Andrew.

Home Sweet Home

Hello all. We finally made it to Utah. Phillip's parents flew out to help us get settled and let me tell you we would still be in boxes without them. Thank you Doc and Gran. Our house is slowly beginning to feel like a home. Everyday we get a little more organized and settled into a routine.

We've even met a lot of our neighbors. It turns out that not everyone in Utah is LDS...thank goodness. I'm still getting the hang of this blogging thing, so my pictures are out of order. The picture above is the inside of our new home. To the Right is the view from the front of our house and below is the house itself.

I diligently tried to add a video of the house to our blog without any luck. Apparently the file size was too large. I'll try again later this week. We miss you all and are so glad to hear from everyone.

Our new address here in Utah is 191W 685S, Ivins, UT 84738. My phone number is the same but will be changing soon. Check back here in a few weeks and I should have the new one posted.

South Mountain Creamery

Just before our move to Utah, Andrew and I visited a local creamery with some of our friends from the Little Gym. Andrew and Makenzie checked out the cows before it was time to feed them.

We all had such a wonderful time at the creamery. Andrew even pointed to the cows and said "moo". He also pointed to the tractors and said "tractor".

National Zoo

Our time in Maryland was a lot shorter than we had hoped for. There were so many places we wanted to see and things we wanted to do. As always though, time flies by and you onle get to do a few. One really fun thing we squeezed in last minute was a trim to the National Zoo in DC. Aunt Mendi met up with us and we really enjoyed watching Andrew take in all the animals.

Martin's in Corolla

Andrew had a great time playing in the sand. He didn't like the waves so much, that is until Cousin Hannah showed him how fun they could be. After that we could barely keep up with him.

Phillip's older brother, Steve, talked all of into doing the khaki and white beach photos. It was tough to get George and Andrew facing the camera at the same time. The photos were worth the effort, though.

The house we stayed in at Corolla had a pool out back, saving us from lugging to the beach everyday. The fun thing we discovered is that George is a water dog at heart. Who knew?
